Kigali Skates Academy
About the Community
Kigali Skates Academy is a skateboarding and rollerblading academy in Kinyinya, Kigali, Rwanda, founded by Theogene Izabayo to revive and grow Rwanda’s skating culture. Following the demolition of Kigali’s skatepark in 2020, we are committed to bringing young skaters together, nurturing hidden talent, and creating opportunities for the next generation. Through skateboarding and rollerblading, we promote creativity, confidence, unity, and self-expression. Our mission is to rebuild Rwanda’s skating community and create a place where young people can learn, grow, and skate together again. Join Kigali Skates Academy and help bring Rwanda’s skate culture back to life.
